Pre-Existing Conditions

Certain pre-existing conditions are frequently encountered in claims arising from motor vehicle and work related accidents, particularly osteoarthritis. In this chapter we discuss osteoarthritis and other pre-existing spinal conditions. Obesity and diabetes mellitus are also discussed; they are often are seen in personal injury claims and sometimes influence the outcome of the claim.
